What Are Happy Gift Cards?

Happy Gift Cards give customers increased flexibility as each gift card can be used at multiple brands (typically 5-9). Currently, there are 18 Happy Gift Card varieties comprised of 43 different brands. Following their launch in 2018, Happy Gift Cards ran into problems with redemption as merchants weren’t accustomed to such a card. Important to know, Happy Gift Cards typically need to run as credit rather than a gift card when redeeming. More recently, most of the problems seem to have been resolved though be prepared that these cards may not be as easy to redeem as they initially appear.

 

Can Happy Gift Cards Be Used Online?

Yes but there may be an extra step involved. Since Happy Gift Cards typically need to processed as a credit instead of a gift card, if the total amount of your online order is more than the value of the gift card, you’ll need to add an extra step to your redemption. The workaround that typically works is to use the Happy Gift Card to buy a gift card from the merchant. Then you can combined the newly purchased gift card with another form of payment.

 

How Are Happy Gift Card eGift Cards Different?

In addition to the nuances of redeeming as credit rather than gift cards, there are also a few varieties of Happy eGift Cards including Happy Graduation and Happy You. Happy eGift Cards are redeemed online for the gift card of your choice from the brands listed on the card. Additionally, you can get gift cards from multiple different brands from one Happy eGift Card. For example, if you have a $100 Happy Graduation eGift Card, you could get a $50 Buffalo Wild Wings Gift Card & $50 Dave & Buster’s Gift Card (or any other combination of denomination and brand).
