When shopping at Giant Eagle, Market District and GetGo, every purchase helps you save money on your next stop at the gas station. See below for a complete explanation on how the program works and how to maximize the benefits.

 

What Brands Are Included in Giant Eagle Family of Brands?

• Market District – Indiana, Ohio & Pennsylvania
• GetGo – Indiana, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia

The old Fuelperks+ program continues to operate and is similar in a lot of ways to the new MyPerks Member level. That said, with the introduction of the new MyPerks program, you will no longer earn perks under the Fuelperks+ program. It’s important to state up front that there are two tiers to the new Giant Eagle MyPerks program: (1) Member & (2) Pro. The two levels vary in terms of categories that earn Perks but also the amount of Perks they earn.

Is There A Limit To The Number Of Giant Eagle Fuelperks+ Perks You Can Earn?

Nope. The only limit is your credit card limit.

 

To incentive conversion to the new program, Giant Eagle is giving MyPerks Pro to every new member until June 30, 2022. After that, you will have to re-qualify for status every six months. There are two ways to achieve MyPerks Pro: (1) Earn 2,500 Perks every six months or (2) Make 25 Trips to GetGo (spending $5 inside or pumping 5 gallons per trip).

Under the new MyPerks program, redemption options have been drastically simplified. Now, 50 perks is worth $1 off grocery or gas total making each perk worth $0.02. Such represents a devaluation as under the prior Fuelperks+ program each perk was worth $0.02-0.04 depending on redemption option.

 

Where Can I See My Giant Eagle MyPerks Balance?

You can see your current Perks Balance by clicking here with an example below. When you check your Giant Eagle MyPerks balance you will see two numbers…

1. Perks Balance: How many perks do you currently have available?
2. Amount Towards MyPerks Pro: How many perks until you achieve MyPerks Pro or requalify for MyPerks Pro

Can You Use GetGo Gift Cards for Gas Purchases?

Yes! That said, if you purchase the GetGo gift cards from Giant Eagle, Market District or GetGo, you will not receive fuelperks for the purchase of the gift card. You will only receive fuelperks when the gift card is redeemed.

With each perk worth 2.0¢ (see above), that means that on normal days when gift card purchases earn 2 perks per dollar (for pro members), we can purchase gift cards from Giant Eagle, Market District and GetGo at an effective 4% discount.

 

Gift Card Bonus Days

In addition to earning 2 perks per dollar (for pro members), Giant Eagle will also run bonus day promotions where customers can earn 2-3x on gift cards which would equate to 4-6x on gift cards in theory…   That said, the Giant Eagle terms and conditions are explicit that “Gift cards can earn a maximum of 5x perks”. Therefore, on 3x bonus would only equate to 5x not 6x on gift cards. Bottom line, on bonus days, pro member can receive up to a 10% discount on gift card purchases.

 

Exclusions To Be Aware Of

In terms of earnings, perks are not earned on Giant Eagle, Market District or GetGo gift cards. Visa prepaid reloadable cards are also excluded. Otherwise, Amazon gift cards earn perks at 1/2 perk per dollar and are excluded from bonus perk offers or events.

In terms of redemptions, perks cannot be applied as discounts toward gift card purchases.

 

The expiration of your MyPerks balance is differentiated by tier:

 

MyPerks Member Expiration

For those in the “member” tier of MyPerks, perks expire at the end of third full month after they are earned. For example, the perks you earn in January (the 1st month) will expire at the end of April (the 4th month).

 

MyPerks Pro Expiration

For those in the “pro” tier of MyPerks, perks expire at the end of the next full calendar month after one year of non-use. For example, the perks you earn in January 2022 will expire at the end of February 2023. That said, the clock resets with account activity so if you maintain the “pro” tier, your perks will likely not expire.
